If you are traveling to Singapore, you cannot miss visiting Gardens By The Bay. It is one of the top places to visit in Singapore and believe me when I say, the title is very well-deserved. It is also one of the top Free things to see in Singapore. While the daily Light and Sound Show at Gardens By The Bay is one reason to visit this 250 – acre nature park built on reclaimed land, this is not just the only best time to visit Gardens By The Bay. Set in the heart of the city, the three water-front gardens of this perfectly built nature parks are more than enough to keep you busy for an entire day. But let’s not digress, we are talking about the FREE Light and Sound Show at Gardens By The Bay, I know!
Gardens By The Bay Light And Sound Show Timings
The Light show of Gardens by the bay happens at the Super Tree Grove, daily. There are two Free shows daily, apart from the seasonal shows that keep on happening during various times of the year like, Christmas special shows etc. The best place to know about any upcoming or ongoing special themed shows at the super-tree grove is this.
The Daily show-timings are 7.45 PM and 8.45 PM.
The super-tree grove, as expected, is huge, just like the super-trees and there’s every chance you will get lost while trying to find your way from the entry to the super-tree grove. We did! Thankfully though, we made our way to the super-tree grove before the light show started.
If you are lucky and you don’t get lost, just find yourself a nice place anywhere in the garden, maybe on top of a small knoll or something, and make yourself comfortable. Don’t try to go very close to the super-trees, rather be somewhere which gives you the full view of the huge man-made tree. We did the mistake of sitting closer than we should have, for our first show and did not have a full view. Thankfully, we realized our mistake and before the second show (yes, we enjoyed two back to back shows!!), found a place to ourselves which gave us a 100% unhindered view.
Marina Bay Light And Water Show
While you are there at Gardens by the bay, enjoying the light and sound show, don’t forget that there’s something very interesting on the other side as well. Just on the other the iconic Marina Bay hotel, at the Singapore Bay Front, there’s another amazing light show (in fact, a light, sound and water show) that happens. This one too, daily! But more on that, in another post.

Unfortunately it was built after my visit of the city. I was there in 2010 as one of my Chinese friends was working there for 2 years and it wasn’t far from Kuala Lumpur (I was indeed visiting Sulawesi Island in Indonesia, especially Tanah Toraja). I especially loved Little India and Arab Street.
I guess you should go again once then 🙂
I loved Arab street. Little India, not that much!
